Substance use by gender in Mexican university students from the Capital and the Province

A review of research on substance abuse nationwide and in school populations shows the problem of lacking common criteria in databases, which hampers the use of comparative methodologies allowing for measuring the use and abuse of drugs in a given population. This paper attempts to explore the patterns of substance abuse in college populations by processing some of the existing databases in order to elucidate gender clues in this phenomenon, as well as those related with the location of the campus, either in the Mexican capital or in the province.
