Institute of Ethics and Development Studies![]() The Institute of Ethics and Development Studies was one of the pioneer departments of Uganda Martyrs University. Since 1993, 122 students have graduated with a BA in Ethics and Development Studies (four with first class degrees) and 74 students have graduated with an MA degree. The Institute has always had an international flavour: staff from Uganda, Ireland, Belgium, and Germany have been or are teaching in the Institute, and we have had students from Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Congo, Tanzania, Kenya, Sudan, South Africa, Holland, Slovenia, and Britain. The university library is well stocked with books relating to all courses taught in the Institute and you are advised to read widely in addition to following lectures and participating in other activities relating to your courses. The staff of the Institute, who have a wide range of international academic qualifications, are committed to working with you throughout your time at Nkozi. The Institute encourages a holistic approach to learning and discourages verbatim repetition of lecture notes in assignments and assessments. Throughout your time with us you will be assisted and encouraged to think for yourself in a critical fashion about a wide range of issues. We are here to help you learn and to learn with you. We hope that your time with us will be both enjoyable and fruitful! |
