The Faculty of Building Technology and Architecture was set up
This two-year program is aimed at educating professional architects. The
program encourages students to seek creative and innovative solutions to
local problems through the use of context specific design projects. In their
final year, students are required to complete a professional project - this
involves developing their selected design project from brief formulation through
concept design, design development and construction, to presenting the results
professionally.

Applications for admission to the B.Arch degree are accepted from
applicants who, hold the BSc. (BDT) or the B.Envi.Des. degree of
Uganda Martyrs University with a minimum average grade of 55%,
plus one year supervised work experince with a registered Architect.
Applicants with an equivalent award from a recognised university
are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be required to submit
original or certified copies of their academic transcripts as well
as provide a written statement briefly outlining their experiences,
and why they wish to pursue the B. Arch. program. In addition,
applicants must present a portfolio of work that demonstrates and showcases their writing and graphical skills. Requirements for the portfolio are available from the faculty office. Applicants may also
be required to attend an interview.

Workload: 25 contact hours (lectures, tutorials, seminars etc.) per week
Students are expected to undertake at least the equivalent in
private study
