Equator Peace Academy The Equator Peace Academy (EPA) in the Department of Good Governance and Peace Studies is part of the activities of the proposed International Center for Peace and Justice (ICEPAJ) at Uganda Martyrs University. The Academy provides a number of activities including “summer school”, MA and PhD research programmes, workshops and conferences. The Academy helps in developing an indigenous, home grown and culturally appropriate curriculum for Peace and Conflict Studies based on comparative models that already exist elsewhere. It also serves to educate participants on the need for peace and steer them to form part of activists for change in conflict ridden areas.

Memory, Conflict and Tradition Uganda and Rwanda 12th – 26th August 2012The Equator Peace Academy (EPA) is an annual international Academy (Summer School) designed to confront thematic issues in selected countries of the Great Lakes Region of Africa. This is a call to interested fellows who intend to participate in the first Academy from 12th to 26th August 2012. The Academy is organised in Uganda and Rwanda under the theme Whose Community? Memory, Conflict and Tradition, with the aim of confronting the problematic of intolerance to diversity, divisive governance and the turbulent past.
