What is the eSAP - project?
The eSAP - project is a collaboration project between universities in the North and the South. It has two clear goals:
  • To promote the access to the international scientific journals by means of Internet for universities in developing regions.

The project is an initiative of Prof.dr. Sven Caspersen, Rector of Aalborg University, in his quality of president of IAUP: the International Association of University Presidents and of Dr. Ed Simons of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU).

    Electronic Publications from Africa :
the nucleus of this Web Site !

One of the aims of eSAP is to provide the participating African universities with a possibility to electronically publish their proper articles and reports on the Internet and thus to make their academic work known and available to the world. This publication process now has started, and will hopefully continue to grow into a real electronic university press for East Africa.
Click the red buttons in the navigation bar above to access the publication pages of each participating university.

eSAP is based on a formal Memorandum of Understanding between the participating African universities
On February 9th 2001, the VCs of the East African universities involved in the project and IAUP signed a Memorandum of Understanding, in Nairobi, Kenya. By signing this document the Vice-Chancellors of the aforementioned universities, formally agreed upon the participation of their university in the eSAP-project.
