Lara Karam Boustany
Rector of La Sagesse University, Lebanon
Professor in several faculties at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ-Beirout) including the Faculty of Law and Political Science (FDSP), the Faculty of Medicine (FM) and the Beirut School of Engineering (ESIB), Lara Karam is also appointed Chair of the Public Law Section at Faculty of Law, USJ since 2016. In 2014, she became the director of the Master 2 of General Public Law at USJ. Since 2013, she has been the legal advisor to the Rector of USJ. Outside the academic field, Lara Karam shines at the professional level as a member of the Executive Board of the Mediterranean Laboratory of Public Law. She is the director of the « Lebanon » team of the Mediterranean Public Law Laboratory.
After obtaining her law degree from the FDSP in 1993, Lara Karam Boustany obtained a DEA in public law from the University of Paris II, Panthéon-Assas, which she completed with a PhD in law from the same university with honors and congratulations of the jury. Her thesis on « L’action en responsabilité extra-contractuelle devant le juge administratif français » won the Emile Tyan prize in 2001.
She was appointed as Rector of La Sagesse University in July 2020.
