Universite Catholique du Graben


BRIEF HISTORY
The Catholic University of Graben (UCG) - Butembo was founded on 22nd August 1989 by Bishop Emmanuel KATALIKO,former Bishop of Butembo. Government authorized UCG by ministerial decree ESU/CABNIN/0297/91 of 26/9/1991. UCG is a member of the Federation of Catholic Institutes and universities of Kivu. UCG is a member of ACUHIAM and IFCU.

LOCATION OF UCG

UCG is located in the outskirts of Butembo, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

OBJECTIVES OF UNIVERRSITE CATHOLIQUE DU GRABEN

  • Bring a church presence in the world.

  • Prepare men and women, inspired by Christian principles and ready to live their vocation in a mature and responsible manner Ex Corde Eccl.no.31.

  • Blend academic excellence to a solid human formation.

COURSES OFFERED AT UCG AND STUDENT POPULATION
All faculties at UCG offer 1st degree. The Student Population in 1989/90 was 134. Between 1999 and 2000, the number rose to 755.
