BRIEF HISTORY
UCAO started in 1967 with the creation of the Higher Institute of Religious Culture. In 1975, it became the Catholic Institute of West Africa, and now the the Catholic University of West Africa.

LOCATION OF UCAO
UCAO is situated in Abidjan, Capital of Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast).


OBJECTIVES OF UCAO

- To train students to set answers to questions posed by sciences.
- T
o help students get a critical spirit
- To make students aware of the existential problems of Africa


FACULTIES OF UCAO
UCAO has five study and research units, namely:
The Faculty of Theology; Higher Pastoral Institute; Unit of Research for philosophy; Catechist Training; Institute of Communication.

COURSES AT UCAO
The above study and research units offer the following courses: Theology; Catechesis, Philosophy; and Communication.

STUDENTS OF UCAO
UCAO has 250 students and more than 350 for the evening courses

FACILITIES
UCAO has a well-stocked Library with 50,000 volumes with a research unit of Philosophy.
