The Faculty of Canon Law values sound research and teaching that serve the Church, the academy, and the common good of society. We offer a wide range of graduate programs that cultivate and promote the canonical disciplines in the light of the Gospel, attentive to pastoral and practical formation, so as to form researchers, university and seminary teachers, and others who will be trained to hold special ecclesiastical offices, such as chancery and tribunal positions, and to serve as advisors to bishops and religious superiors.

The successful candidate will demonstrate innovative and visionary leadership to direct and develop programs that embrace best practices and emerging directions in canon law formation. The Faculty of Canon Law is currently extending its program offerings on a global scale, including through distance learning, webinars, online seminars, as well as the Centre for Canonical Services (which is committed to providing expert canonical counsel throughout the world) and the Centre for Safeguarding Minors and Vulnerable Persons.

In addition to being bilingual (English and French), the successful candidate will hold a JCD and have outstanding academic qualifications and administrative and leadership experience. In accordance with Veritatis Gaudium (Article 9.3), a nihil obstat will be required before final approval.

The appointment is for a three-year renewable term, commencing July 1, 2022. Tenure may be granted after two years of service.
